I finally made it to Cars Land, the main objective of this trip!

Seeing the racing cars roar through the desert landscape immediately got my heart pumping.

First things first, though, I was starving, so I ordered lunch via mobile order at the ‘V8 Cafe’, but we ended up waiting a ridiculous hour and a half!

We were lucky enough to get a refund because of the excessive wait time (score!), but it was still frustrating to waste precious time standing around.

That was a painful lesson that mobile ordering isn’t always the fastest option, but seeing Lightning McQueen drive past while we were eating offered some consolation 🙂

The Breakdown That Almost Broke Me

After lining up for the highly anticipated ‘Radiator Springs Racers’, about an hour and a half into the queue, we heard the dreaded announcement.

The ride was indefinitely suspended due to technical difficulties, wiping out nearly two hours of waiting—I was absolutely gutted.

This happened the last time I visited, too, right before I got on! I thought, ‘Is this ride just not meant to be for me?’ and had to reluctantly turn away.

I consoled myself by looking at the Christmas tree made of tyres before leaving Cars Land temporarily.

But I wasn’t going to give up, no way; I made a firm decision to come back at night and headed off to the Spider-Man area.

The Unexpected Joy of Avengers Campus and Mini Mouse

The Spider-Man attraction in Avengers Campus was surprisingly exhausting.

All that continuous web-shooting motion made me feel like I was definitely going to have sore muscles tomorrow, but I was having a cracking time, just like a kid again 🙂

As night fell, I was walking down Buena Vista Street when I spotted Minnie Mouse unexpectedly amongst the crowd.

I forgot all about my sore leg and chased after her desperately, and the air kiss Minnie blew just for me was honestly the highlight of the entire trip.

Warming up with a Starbucks coffee and a churro, I waited for the big finale of the day: the fountain show.

Finally, the curtain rose on ‘World of Color’.

I was a bit annoyed because a couple of seriously tall cast members kept moving in front of me, obstructing the view, but the show itself was purely spectacular.

The history of Disney flowed across the massive water screen, illuminated by vibrant fireworks and lights, completely filling the night sky, and the sheer scale of the spectacle left me absolutely mesmerised.

The moment the show finished, I was fuelled by a final burst of determination and raced straight back to Cars Land.

It was closing time, but I managed to get back in the queue and, after another hour of waiting, I finally strapped myself into ‘Radiator Springs Racers’!

Flying through the dark night alongside the competitor car, screaming our heads off, was the perfect way to shred any lingering stress.

We made eye contact with the people in the car next to us and cheered “Yeah!” at each other—it was a moment of pure, international joy.

After the two hours of waiting earlier were wasted, finally getting to experience this ride was definitely the best decision and well worth the extra queue time.

It was well past 11 PM when I left the dark, quiet Cars Land, and the feeling of accomplishment far outweighed the exhaustion.
